Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Security Operations Intern to join our Information Security team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world cybersecurity operations, incident response, and threat monitoring within a high-availability financial technology environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in monitoring security alerts and logs from various systems and applications using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Support incident response activities, including initial triage, investigation, and documentation of potential security events.
  • Conduct threat analysis and help identify malicious indicators from network traffic, endpoint systems, and application logs.
  • Assist in vulnerability scanning and follow up with technical teams on remediation activities.
  • Help maintain and update security dashboards, metrics, and reports for management review.
  • Support patch management and configuration review processes to ensure system compliance with security baselines.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure and application teams to enhance security monitoring coverage and fine-tune alert rules.
  • Participate in threat hunting exercises, learning how to proactively identify potential risks and attack vectors.
  • Assist in the documentation of security incidents, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies to support continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Diploma / Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
  • Familiarity with security tools and concepts (e.g., firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, vulnerability scanners).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive learner with an interest in cyber defense, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Knowledge of information security standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls) is a plus.
